Indian Covid -19 Vaccination Doses cross 200 Crore mark
The News
India’s cumulative COVID-19 vaccination drive crossed the milestone of 200-crore doses.
It took the country 18 months to reach the target.
About
200,00,15,631 doses were administered nationwide till 1 p.m. on 17th July 2022.
The Vaccination drive was started on January 16, 2021.
This was achieved through 2,63,26,111 sessions, as per the Health Ministry release.
Nine months were required to reach the 100-crore vaccination mark and another nine months to touch the 200-crore milestone.
The highest single-day vaccination record of 2.5 crore doses was achieved on September 17, 2021.

The vaccination exercise was conducted citizen-friendly through programmes such as 'Har Ghar Dastak,' workplace- and school-based immunisation, and vaccination of those without documents.
The programme ensured geographical and gender equity with 71% of the centres in rural areas and over 51% of the doses administered to women.
