Sarbananda Sonowal, the Union Minister of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways, has initiated a number of initiatives to improve the Bogibeel area near Dibrugarh in Assam.

The Bogibeel and Guijan floating jetties, located in the Dibrugarh and Tinsukia districts, respectively, will be built as cutting-edge terminals with the use of cutting-edge and up-to-date technology.

IWAI is building two jetties on National Waterways 2 (NW-2), also known as the Brahmaputra River.

At the Bogibeel bridge, he opened the new Riverfront Passenger Jetty built by the Northeast Frontier Railways (NFR).

The Bogibeel Bridge connects the districts of Dhemaji and Dibrugarh in the northeastern Indian state of Assam across the Brahmaputra River.
