- NGT ordered UP authorities to take action against unscientific disposal of waste into storm drains.
Details:
- Dairies found are disposing waste into storm drain sand violating environmental norms.
- Methods of waste disposal:
(1) Composting and vermicomposting for biodegradable waste
(2) Landfilling outside the city area (Easy method but long exposure of garbage and possibility of diseases.)
(3) Incineration for medical waste/contaminated waste (Problem of air pollution)
