Integrated traceability system developed by Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA)providing Internet based electronic services to the stakeholders for facilitating farm registration, testing and certification of Grape, Pomegranate and Vegetables for export from India to the European Union in compliance with standards.

Objective:

  1. Providing Internet based electronic services to the stakeholders for facilitating farm registration, testing and certification of Grape, Pomegranate and Vegetables for export from India to the European Union in compliance with standards.
  2. To harness the potential of mobile technology, to allow farmers to apply on-line to facilitate their farm registration, tracking the status of application & approvals by State Government and Lab sampling by authorized Laboratories.
  3. To increase the accessibility and reach of the Traceability software system among the farmers and other stakeholders.

Features:

  1. Online Farm registration application and status tracking
  2. Processing and approval on on-line farmer applications by State Horticulture /Agriculture department.
  3. Registration of farmers, farms and products by State Horticulture/Agriculture department
  4. Capture geo location of the farms registered through the app
  5. Sample collection by APEDA authorized Laboratories along with geo location of the sample.

About APDEA:

The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) was established by the Government of India under the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority Act, in 1985.

Functions:

  1. Development of industries relating to the scheduled products for export by way of providing financial assistance or otherwise for undertaking surveys and feasibility studies, participation in enquiry capital through joint ventures and other reliefs and subsidy schemes;
  2. Registration of persons as exporters of the scheduled products on payment of such fees as may be prescribed;
  3. Fixing of standards and specifications for the scheduled products for the purpose of exports;
  4. Carrying out inspection of meat and meat products in slaughter houses, processing plants, storage premises, conveyances or other places where such products are kept or handled for the purpose of ensuring the quality of such products;
  5. Improving of packaging of the Scheduled products;
  6. Improving of marketing of the Scheduled products outside India;
  7. Promotion of export oriented production and development of the Scheduled products;
  8. Collection of statistics from the owners of factories or establishments engaged in the production, processing, packaging, marketing or export of the scheduled products or from such other persons as may be prescribed on any matter relating to the scheduled products and publication of the statistics so collected or of any portions thereof or extracts therefrom;
  9. Training in various aspects of the industries connected with the scheduled products;

APEDA is mandated with the responsibility of export promotion and development of the following scheduled products:

  1. Fruits, Vegetables and their Products.
  2. Meat and Meat Products.
  3. Poultry and Poultry Products.
  4. Dairy Products.
  5. Confectionery, Biscuits and Bakery Products.
  6. Honey, Jaggery and Sugar Products.
  7. Cocoa and its products, chocolates of all kinds.
  8. Alcoholic and Non-Alcoholic Beverages.
  9. Cereal and Cereal Products.
  10. Groundnuts, Peanuts and Walnuts.
  11. Pickles, Papads and Chutneys.
  12. Guar Gum.
  13. Floriculture and Floriculture Products.
  14. Herbal and Medicinal Plants.
