The distinguished Asia-Pacific Institute of Broadcasting Development, AIBD, has extended India's presidency for an additional year.

The AIBD member nations unanimously agreed on this during the two-day General Conference in New Delhi. Currently serving as both Director General of Doordarshan and Chief Executive Officer of Prasar Bharati, Mayank Kumar Agrawal is the president of AIBD.

1977 saw the founding of the Asia-Pacific Institute for Broadcasting Development (AIBD).

In the field of developing electronic media, it is a distinctive regional intergovernmental organisation of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UN-ESCAP). At the moment, 52 affiliate members and 43 organisations represent 26 full members of AIBD.
