Telangana to implement 10% reservation for EWS
Why is it in news?
- Telangana government is set to implement 10% reservation to economically weaker sections (EWS) in education and employment.
Details:
- The reservations for EWS would be given in higher educational institutions, including private institutions, other than minority educational institutions.
- People from EWS would also get reservation in posts in initial appointments in services under the State.
- Parliament had passed the 103th amendment Act to make avail the benefit of 10% reservation to EWS.
