Panel clears Parliament project
Details:
- The Supreme Court had ordered that the permission of the HCC, should be obtained before any work starts on the ground.
- HCC is headed by an Additional Secretary of the Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry and includes government officials primarily.
- The new building was proposed to be built adjacent to the existing Parliament, which was built in the 1920s.
- Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry said the timeline for the completion was 2022, the 75th year of Independence.
