Why in the news ?
  • Government unveiled a Centre of Excellence for Data Analytics (CEDA),with a view to fast-tracking the adoption of data analytics in the government to improve delivery of services to citizens.
More in the news
  • The centre would help build analytic solutions that are specific to a particular problem which may relate to a single or a combination of departments.
  • Centre would also provide data profiling tools and techniques along with necessary expertise to analyse the data for quality issues.
  • CEDA would focus on training and enabling the departments to do self-service analytics.
NIC to help
  • National Informatics Centre (NIC) will help the government leverage data analytics to make data-driven decisions.
  • It will further strengthen delivery of citizen services with the help of its Centre of Excellence for Data Analytics (CEDA).
  • NIC, which provides technology support for governance services -- to strengthen innovation and see how data available from goods and services tax (GST), healthcare and other areas be leveraged to benefit masses.
