USA to cut emissions by 52% by 2030

- USA president announced that USA will cut down emissions of GHGs by 52% by 2030.

- Reduction will be relative to 2005 levels.
- USA is going to double the annual financial commitments to developing countries by 2024.
- These financial commitments are the part of $100 billion a year by developed countries.

- India -USA partnership:
(1) Indian PM announced India-USA partnership on energy and climate.
(2) It is named as ‘India-US Climate and Clean Energy Agenda 2030 Partnership.
(3) It will help mobilize investments, demonstrate clean technologies, and enable green collaborations.
(4) Clean energy is needed to decarbonize sectors including industry, transportation and power.
