Law Commission favorable to simultaneous elections, comes with Few Suggestions.

The Law Commission suggests amending the Constitution to realise the objective of simultaneous Elections In India. The commission is now headed by retired Supreme Court judge Justice B.S. Chauhan, says opinions and suggestions should come in by May 8, 2018.

States can decide on exempting certain municipal areas from liquor ban, says Supreme Court

The Supreme Court gave the State governments the discretion to decide, on facts, whether areas covered by local self-governing bodies or areas proximate to municipal pockets should be exempted from the court’s nationwide prohibition on sale of liquor within 500 metres along the highways.

Statute Bench to solve conflict in Supreme Court
