In a landmark unanimous Judgment, the Supreme Court struck down as Unconstitutional and manifestly arbitrary and electoral bonds scheme which provides blanket anonymity to political donors as well as critical legal amendments allowing rich amendments allowing rich corporations to make unlimited political donations.

Model code of Conduct

The Election Commission withdrew permission for Rythu Banndu Scheme of the Telangana government citing violation of model code of conduct. IN its order the poll body withdrew the permission citing violation of same by state Finance minister.

Role of Governor in Legislature

Tamil Nadu Governor R.N.Ravi has withheld assent for certain bills passed by the Tamil Nadu legislative Assembly. This follows the Supreme court expressing Serious Concern over inaction by the governor on the Bills presented for his assent. The court expressed displeasure on similar delays by Governors of Telangana, Punjab and Kerala
