6 tigers unaccounted in Ranthambore Tiger Reserve

  • 6 tigers have been unaccounted in Ranthambore Tiger Reserve in Rajasthan since March 2020.
Details:
  • It comprises 4 adults and 2 sub-adults.
  • National Tiger Conservation Authority constituted a committee to look into the matter.
  • Ranthambore National Park and tiger reserve:
(1) It is a national park in Rajasthan.
(2) It has an area of 1,334 sq. km.
(3) It is bounded to the north by the Banas River and to the south by the Chambal River.
(4) It is named after the historic Ranthambore Fort, which lies within the park.
(5) It had 55 tigers according to census in July 2020.
