New guidelines for skill training

Why in the news ?

  • The Rajasthan Skill and Livelihoods Development Corporation (RSLDC) has framed new guidelines for skill training.
  • It is aimed at improving the prospects for self­-employment and productivity enhancement of marginalised groups.

Details

  • The RSLDC has also empanelled eligible training partners who have prior experience of conducting such programmes.
  • The training will benefit the youths and women from marginalised sections, jail inmates, juvenile home inmates, persons with special abilities and transgenders.
  • The revised guidelines has mandated 30 hours of the training curriculum for entrepreneurship and 20 hours for financial and information technology literacy.
  • The objective of soft skills training is to generate ability of teamwork, creativity and problem­solving strategies.
  • New skill development centres would be opened on the national and State highways to ensure their visibility and they would have vision sensors and face recognition servers to ensure better evaluation and monitoring.
